Q2 Highlights: Innovation, Partnerships, and Impact

Back to Blog

The second quarter of 2026 brought exciting opportunities for growth and innovation across Embrace Living Communities. Through new partnerships, grant funding, and resident-centered programs, we continue our commitment to helping older adults age with dignity, independence, and connection.

Celebrating Resident Stories

This quarter’s Voices of Embrace feature highlights Mr. Medina, a resident whose passion for art, perseverance, and creativity continue to inspire those around him. His story reminds us that every resident brings unique experiences and talents that enrich our communities.

Investing in Resident Wellness

This quarter, Embrace secured several grants that will enhance the lives of residents throughout our communities.

Funding from the American Water Charitable Foundation will support water-saving upgrades at Greencastle of Sterling through the installation of EPA WaterSense® showerheads, promoting both sustainability and affordability.

Thanks to Northwestern Medicine, residents at Immanuel Residences in Downers Grove and Castle Towers in Bensenville will soon have access to SMARTfit interactive wellness systems. These innovative activity walls combine physical and cognitive exercises designed to support healthy aging, improve balance and coordination, and encourage active lifestyles.

We are also expanding our Aging in Place with Virtual Reality program to Greencastle of Barrington with support from the Barrington Area Community Foundation. Originally launched through funding from the Midland States Bank Foundation, the program allows residents to explore destinations, cultural attractions, and educational experiences through immersive virtual reality technology.

Looking Ahead

As Embrace Living Communities continues to grow, we remain focused on expanding opportunities for residents while maintaining the strong foundation that has guided our organization for decades.

Reflecting on his first year with Embrace, President and CEO Wayne Foley shared that what stands out most is the passion employees bring to the mission every day.

“For most Embrace employees, this is more than a job, it is a true commitment to bettering the lives of our residents and having a positive effect on the community.”

That commitment is evident in every partnership, program, and resident success story highlighted this quarter. As we look ahead, we are excited about new opportunities to expand our impact while remaining thoughtful stewards of our mission and resources.

Thank you to our residents, staff, partners, donors, and supporters for helping us create communities where older adults can continue to embrace living.
