Job Summary

The Housekeeper I cleans all public and common areas in the housing community, cleans vacant units prior to move in of households, and contributes to the team effort of providing quality, welcoming homes to all residents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creates a respectful living environment for all residents that is aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Promote harmonious relations among residents, guests, team members, vendors, and local area partners. Accepts role of Lead Manager as workplace mentor and cooperates accordingly.
• Supports a wellness culture that encourages active aging and living well.
• Cleans, disinfects, sweeps, mops, scrubs, dusts, vacuums, washes, polishes, and wipes walls, floors, and surfaces in common areas, such as hallways, stairs, laundry rooms, and office spaces in compliance with standards and established schedule. Empties and removes trash. Cleans refrigerators and ovens in common areas.
• Cleans public restrooms to maintain proper sanitary condition and maintains adequate supplies of soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and any other necessary supplies.
• Cleans vacant apartments after a resident move-out and assists in completing routine maintenance work prior to the move-in of a household.
• Performs light maintenance duties such as replacing batteries as needed.
• Removes litter from building grounds.
• Reports damage or areas of safety concern to management and maintenance.
• Follows the policies and procedures in the Plant Operations and Procedures Manual.
• Maintains Safety Data Sheets for required products and adheres to OSHA safety requirements.
• Maintains an inventory of supplies.
• Works cooperatively with team members to ensure the housing community is maintained to its highest standard in the most cost-efficient manner possible.

• Commits to organizational growth and sustainable building practices, energy efficiency, and green product use when prudent.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this job, the skill sets listed below must be met.
• Education and/or Experience – High School diploma or GED.
• Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents and other team members.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Computer Skills – Proficient in computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, and routine database activity.

• Performs some duties near moving mechanical parts.
