These communities offer a place to call home to persons that are at least 18 years old, have limited resources and a physical handicap as defined by the "Fair Housing Act.* There are four Orchard Place communities available in Illinois.
*Under the Fair Housing Act, “handicap means, with respect to a person a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major life activities; a record of such an impairment; or being regarded as having such an impairment”.
